Organic Landscape Design

The Crescent Grange is located just off old Wadsworth Boulevard in the old part of Broomfield.

It has been a wonderful venue for holding meetings and pot lucks and showing films.  Several members of the Core Group for Transition Westminster/Aravada/Broomfield have joined the Grange in order to help with maintenance of the facility and the other Grange members fully support the community building and permaculture gardening plans - so that has worked out well.

The preliminary Layout for the garden allows space for the traditional Grange usages of picnicing and parking.  We are also considering a swale to collect water running off the neighboring properties.

April 10, 2010 was the big work day for sheet mulching and building a hoop house:

We have since installed the drip line and planted - and survived a hail storm.  The hay field is beginning to bloom to the delight of Don's bees and more pictures will follow.
